Volleyball

Dimple Dell Recreation Center - April 19, 2008

Nathan prepares to return serve from the dreaded orange team. Holly was unable to attend this game because she was off running the Salt Lake Half marathon. She finished in two hours and six minutes with two blisters. Congratulations Holly!
Nathan's blue team is a coed-team consisting of a bunch of girls and three boys. His next game is on April 26 at 10:00. All games are played at Dimple Dell.

Still Snow?

Brighton Ski Resort - April 6, 2008.

Another day of morning skiing for Chad and Nathan while Holly was off working. We had time for ten runs, mostly on Millicent. The skiing was decent, mainly because there were a few inches of new snow on top of the rather hard base. Surprisingly, there is still well over a 100 inch base. In fact, Nathan is able to ski under the sign in the picture when the resort opens for the season.

A Quiet Puppy

Peppie - April 5, 2008.

In this picture, Peppie is inspecting her new dog collar. It's a pretty pink collar and she is so excited to show Grandpa. Her only complaint is that it shocks her when she barks. :)

Deer Valley

Deer Valley - Park City - March 29, 2008

On Saturday, we went skiing with the Miller family at Deer Valley. The first half of the day, the adults skied while the kids "cleaned" the Miller house. At lunch time, Jenny went to pick them all up. It was a warm sunny day and everybody had a good time. However, the snow is starting to melt and the 2008 ski season is winding down.

Angel's Landing

Zion National Park - Angel's Landing - Friday March 21, 2008.

Angel's Landing is a very popular five mile hike in Zion National Park. The trail leads to a lofty perch with great views in both directions of the valley. The last portion of the hike is along a narrow fin with long drop-offs in both directions. The hike is well marked and chained in the steeper portions.

We started the hike mid-morning on a beautiful spring day. The hike took us approximately four hours including a fifteen minute break at the top. This is one of Nathan's longest hikes to date and he was excited to be able to complete it. The picture is of Holly and Nathan on top of Angel's Landing with the valley in the background.
